2016 Toyota Sienna vs. 2016 Honda Odyssey
The minivan. The classification is almost an albatross these days; where once we saw a useful vehicle that carried a large group easily from place to place, now it is often viewed as something uncool. Well, don't tell that to the 2016 Toyota Sienna and the 2016 Honda Odyssey, two of the premier minivans on the market which we will study side-by-side, with the understanding that the value of these vans is far from mini. Speaking of value, the 2016 Toyota Sienna is a six-time IntelliChoice Best Value Winner, a feat which the 2016 Honda Odyssey cannot possibly match.
With seating for up to eight people, these minivans will need some power to keep the group rolling to school, friends' houses, or on road trips - or to merge onto the highway with ease - and the 2016 Toyota Sienna's 3.5-liter V6 engine uncorks a hearty 266 HP, which is superior to the Odyssey's 248 HP. While the 2016 Odyssey gets slightly better fuel economy with 19 mpg city, 28 highway to the 2016 Sienna's 18 city, 25 highway, the Sienna makes up for it with more room to pack your items, 150 cubic feet total. We're not asking you to do this unless you really want to, but that's enough space to start your own small zoo.
Test Drive a Toyota Sienna in Hickory
Here's where the 2016 Toyota Sienna really leaves the 2016 Honda Odyssey in the dust. The 2016 Sienna has an available all-wheel-drive mode (AWD), which the 2016 Odyssey does not have. In addition, the 2016 Sienna has cool tech with Driver Easy Speak, where you can use a microphone in an overhead console to broadcast your voice through the speakers. The Sienna also has an available DVD player for premium model options, which comes with a Blu-ray Disc entertainment center and two 120V power outlets; the Odyssey has standard or available DVD players for four model options, but there's not the depth of video features the Sienna has, which also includes two wireless headphones and a 16.4-inch screen.
